Thanks. The hose that goes into the back of the Rad...on the fan side?[/quote

My bad I worded that wrong, I was referring to the lower hose on the expansion tank, I see the top hose comes from the rad, where does the bottom one come from

No worries man. The only other hose attached to the expansion tank is at the bottom of it with a check valve and that hose runs down along the strut tower/inner wing, and does a switch-back around the motor mount and connects to the port at bottom right corner of Rad under the fan. This the one you mean?

D'Frosty!!!!!

Thanks for the pictures sir, I am putting an engine where it doesn't belong so to speak and was hoping that the expansion tank upper and lower could be tied to the radiator

Thanks for asking dood. Unfortunately, only an update of the ugly kind...

The car was up on the dyno ready to be properly broken in and tuned :woowoo: !!

But...and a big but it is. During the warm up cycle, a sound of something breaking loose inside the motor was heard and promptly shutdown. The #2 cylinder rod bearing gave way due to oil starvation and after a bit of investigation, turns out that the machine shop that did the rebuild on the block installed all of the main bearings backwards :dur:

The machine shop has since completed all of the rebuild work part deux, the engine and gearbox have been reinstalled and now awaiting a new oil pan extension after the original, plus the replacement, have perplexingly broke at the exact same spot during installation.

I should rename my file for this project to 'Project Setback'

What a bummer! But, you're getting ever closer... when do you estimate being on the road again, ripping up pavement?

Indeed. As of now, the plan was to have her back up on the dyno by end of this month...which is this week. If the 2nd replacement pan extension breaks again, we'll have to punt it out another couple weeks.

I'll shoot some video when it finally happens. I've seen posts with youtube clips imbedded in the body of the post...not just a link. How do we do that?

You've got to put the vid onto photo bucket or something like that first, then put it in between the video things from "full editor" preview before posting, viola!

Am in need of oil pan extension (p/n 034 103 627 or 034 103 627 D) for 7A, 3B, AAN, ADU or ABY if anyone has one available...original 7A motor to my build. This is holding up motor break-in and tune

Has anyone else experienced this when installing with new o-ring gasket? Appears to be too thick as extension original to motor (seen in pics) and a replacement have both broken at exactly same upper left hand corner.

Nice to see you've migrated :)

I think any of the pics you'd uploaded to MG have to be either hosted elsewhere or hosted here.

Would any of you have a suggestion for a better solution to this clearance issue between the backside of the right headlight and the Turbo Inlet hose?? Kinda not liking the stress it will put on the headlight connector and the way it forces the light to be aimed down and in.

Thanks

Cobra head style hose may help.
