I do have a steam cleaner (or 2) so I'll give it a shot. Not sure how I will reach into all the compartments in the tank, but can't hurt to try right?

If steam doesn’t work you can still get a replacement reservoir for b3 I believe . I got a new one and it was worth the $$ just because not being able to replace the one in my urq has always pissed me off (having to look at the old one)

The one I have in the car was a replacement. With less than 10k miles on it, and it cracked. That's really why I'm looking at trying to clean an oem.

As for you Urq, I may know someone that has an incredibly clean one if it's the same as the CGT.

Oh that makes sense .
For the urq I have a couple ways I can go I may Change the bracket and adapt to an b3 or newer one

Yeah, that's what I meant about making some kind of lance to get into the nooks and crannies. See if you can get some copper tube that will fit over the outlet nozzle on your steamer and that should be flexible enough to get into the right place.

Well people, I truly believe it's time. I think it's time to sell this, and move on. I'm sure this will upset many(my family included), but I don't drive it anymore, and it just sits. I'll compile a list of what all it has on it, and will come with it.

If you are seriously interested in it, shoot me a PM with any questions or offers.

Well, just can't let this thing go. I'll be moving along now I guess.

So I've been looking at doing a 5 lug swap, and bigger brakes now for a while. I guess now is as good of a time as any!

I still need to source a pair of B5 rear hubs and all the bearings. I will be rebuilding the UrS calipers in the pic as well. If they turn out as well as the 80q calipers I rebuilt, I'll be very happy.

Good for you! So hard to let go, these projects turn into part of the family.

It is hard to let it go. My wife actually refers to it as our second kid

I know you sent me that pic, but it just registered those are not stock calipers! Are they some sort of Porsche calipers up front and urS rears?

Yes, Porsche boxster front and UrS rear they are.

Well Dave, just read through all 32 pages as I'm on some of the same journey. Just picked up an '88 90Q with a 20vt swapped in. It's definitely going to need some upgrades as it's currently on a cobbled together CIS setup. I ordered an EMU Black, not an MS, but I imagine it will be a similar setup eventually. Mine still has a K26, but I suspect I'll pick up and rebuild a K24 for it (for now). I will no doubt have some questions... not many folks still running a 20vt and of those who do, most aren't running a modern injection system.

Welcome! There are more 20vt's out there than one would imagine. I have helped with several, and have seen others in person. The problem is, no one wants to talk about them. I'm not really sure why.

Anyways, the k26 isn't a bad turbo, it just isn't as fast to spool. Before my manifold cracked again, I was hitting 22psi before 3krpm on my k24. That will be one thing you will want to check for sure. These manifolds are known for cracking. Even the 2 piece manifolds tend to crack at the collector(ask me how I know :shame: )

I have no experience the EMU Black, so I'll have to look it up. I'm glad to help where I can.

Ya, I've been around them a bit and they're pretty lazy. The UrS4 I had, someone had thrown on a K26 (and a TAP chipped ecu) and it was incredibly doggy. I put a proper K24 back on it with an IA III+ ecu and it woke right up. A buddy has a couple Audi K24's lying about (both 7000's unfortunately, no 7200's) so I'll likely pick one up from him and go through it.

They seem to be a great unit, LSU 4.9 WB support native, dual wideband knock sensor support native, DBW native, among others and they claim to be able to deal with the 135t VR input just fine. About 90% of the functionality of a MaxxEcu Race for several hundred less and they get good reviews. We'll see. At the moment I'm trying to spec injectors that will support my goals and be the same size the Corrado G60 (265cc) injectors that it previously had in it with a hacked Corrado ECU (which I didn't get with the car, PO put CIS back on it). I "think" that a stock Ford 5.4 supercharged injector will work, 440cc and appears to have the right length/o-rings for the injector cups and fuel rail I have.

440cc is what I'm running. Unfortunately I'm maxing them out currently. I'm not sure if I want to go flex fuel or not, so I may look for some 630's in the near future for the turbo upgrade.

Sorry for the late reply, but glad to see you're keeping it. I have a feeling I'll be kicking myself in the future for not taking the opportunity to convert to 5 lug while I had everything apart on my project.
