bahaha scurred? NevAr! 8k is as far as I'll take it on the factory oil pump though.

I don't know, but I think it the same guy with a shit-eating grin bouncing off the limiter at 8500!! Besides, never had a valve or oiling failure yet!!

Not sure if this is at all on base for your hardware, but my tach used to drop out like that when running MS on distributor ignition if I was running near 100% coil duty cycle.

Launch Control - fun.
But, it doesn't work with my clutch pedal sensor. I'm guessing it's because it's a vacuum switch, but anyone have a btdt?

Casey, it should work. You sure it isn't inverted? I can't remember how I did it, but I think I used a relay. Check if you are getting ground or 5 V via a multimeter

Then check if the channel is inverted or not, etc. As I explained in my thread however, I think you are better off putting it on the e-brake.

Yea I checked with a mm and found no voltage but a switched resistance. I'll go the ebrake route

A fun issue has reared its head. More often then not, I turn the key to start the car and the starter will crank for maybe 2 seconds and stop. I keep the key turned and after not cranking for probably about 2-3 seconds, it starts cranking again for only 2 seconds and repeats. It doesn't matter if I turn the ignition off and try again, it keeps going through its cycle. Anyone have experience with this behavior? It takes an awfully long time to start the car this way....

Probably the starter itself overheating. I assume you just went through the starter wiring since you you had it all apart? A new ign. switch can't hurt either.

The starter was new before I took my car apart and worked just fine then and just recently - this happens even after the car has been off overnight, so overheating isn't likely. Knowing the quality of rebuilt parts, it probably is the starter though... Sigh
I might be picking up a hyd pressure accumulator from Jim, Tim - maybe I can snag a starter from you at the same time

Well I'd have a look at the ign. switch then.

Thanks for the tip Austin, I'll check it out - there was a mysterious smoke/burned electrics smell when I first started the car that came from that area but I couldn't find anything melted/burned and it hasn't since then....

oohh yea, def worth checking the ign switch. Those things can be demons. I wouldnt be surprised to find it cracked around where the key tip goes in. I had one of those toying with my mind on my s6 for a while.

Also, my battery, ABS, and Brake warning lights stay on - but I figure my bomb went bad while the car sat apart for 3 years.. Not sure about the battery though because the gauge reads fine and VEMS reads over 13v while running.
Could these all be ignition switch related?

I had the same issue. Swapped into two good starters before I figured out what was causing all the headaches. Turned out to be the alternator brushes were worn to the nub.
Pull the voltage regulator and have a look. Don't even have to remove the alternator.

Do windows and everything else work? I have to jiggle my ign switch just right after starting or it goes in between positions or something, causes dash light to stay on and windows, etc not to work. I am on 2nd ign switch, but this a 4k, not sure if t44 switch is different.
My starter would also cut out randomly while cranking.
Yea, fresh reg/brush asm would be a good idea anyway.
Awesome car man, love that thing.

Thanks!! I had just replaced the alternator as well before taking it apart. Since its on the original ign switch, I'll give that a shot.
In other news, I'm nearly 500mi into my new (first ever built) motor and it's running great! 13lbs is fun, but I built it for more than twice that, so I think it's time for tuning.
The car is completely back together interior included. Launch control is triggered By the ebrake now. In prep for H2O, I need to give it a full detail inside and out, reseal my valve cover gasket, change trans fluid and find more boost

Also the tires I put on are too tall and make contact with the leading edge of the rear fender when shifting quick 1-2.. 245/40/18
I hooked up the V8 fogs so they come on with the city lights, and lowered the car .5" front and 1.75" rear so that it doesn't have a positive rake anymore.
Really all that matters from this post is the need for more boost.
MOAR.

Cut out templates and made my own hood blanket!

Fogs wired with city lights

I also cleaned my interior, leather included with "tuff stuff" which I'm pretty sure is rebranded scrubbing bubbles but it cleaned the hell out out of my leather and changed the color from brown to gray. Win!

Where did you buy that heat blanket? Is it self-adhesive? I've been meaning to buy some of that.
