So. I've never used carbon fiber in my life. With that being said. I need help in choosing what thickness sheet I need to be purchasing off the interwebz, because I am clueless.
Going to be used as a dash display piece and then as a spot for a switch panel and some other gauges in the center of the dash where all the creature comfort and other boring shit used to be.
Here's the dash layout

Are you going dry or pre-preg, Jon?
If dry, don't forget about the resin thickness.

Well. To be honest. I was just looking to buy a finished sheet of carbon fiber and then cut out the shape on a water jet. I'm not sure what that would fall under with what you mentioned above.

I see. You mean you will buy a flat sheet of CF already finished with resin. Dry CF is just the cloth, pre-preg is CF cloth with the resin soaked in and packed in a bag. Once you take it out it starts to cure. You will also need to shape it and an autoclave for pre-preg. Its the stuff Koenigsegg use.

I figured, just an example of what you are looking for.
Now let's make a pre-preg dash

after my half assed attempt at a fiberglass dash last year, i wouldnt even want to fathom what it would take to get a nice looking mold for a carbon fiber dash.
