Motor into a ur quattro question

Post by 83urquattro »

I wanted to get some input and help with something. I have a MC2 bottom end that is rebuilt with crower rods and 1mm oversized JE piston, stock crank.
is this a good starting point to build a head and install into my ur quattro?? If so what head should i go with and what should I do to the head??
I'm looking to get about 350 -400 hp. I don't want to go to crazy but I want it to be a fun car. It's also going to have a o1e 6spd so what kind of a flywheel clutch combination should I go with??
What turbo should I run??

Well, since you cant use your solid lifter WX head on that block you need to find an mc1 or mc2 head, or the factory bigger valve head(NF? I cant recall). Do the usual port and polish but 20v's are very limited on mods/power. Best of luck to getting your goal of 350-400, but you will have to try fairly hard to get that. A bigger turbo and e85 would be probably be a good place to start.

For 400hp it would be cheaper to get a full 3b or aan and build on that imo. I did see some forged 20v pistons on ebay.de a while back, you'd need some high lift cam, lotsa porting ($$$), tubular exhaust mani from a good source, new oversized inconel on exhaust valves for sure.
