I've decided that I don't want to use my welded up 60-2 wheel after all. I'm worried about crank harmonics shaking it apart and leaving me stranded somewhere. (20vt engine)

So what I am thinking is: 2.7t flywheel for the integrated 60-2. Of course this won't work with an 016 since the crank sensor hole doesn't exist. Fortunately I found an untapped source of 4.11 geared 01Es so they are cheap and not stupid expensive. Perfect.

Wat do? Searching for this kind of info ends up being fruitless. I do *not* want to do any kind of hub conversion, it seems most people who put in 01E are also converting to/already have five lug hubs. I want to keep the 4x100 hubs for various logistical reasons.

The B5S4 flywheel will require the bellhousing spacer.

That would be no big deal, I think. I note that the 3 liter also used the spacer as far as I've seen, and the B6 3.0 is the donor vehicle for the 01E, so everything should be fine there. So it would be mandatory for my purposes anyway (need it for the crank sensor)

I wonder what that would do for driveshaft length. I'd rather move the trans back than the engine forward.

If your car came with the metal one have it shortened and balanced, instead of sourcing a 4kq propshaft.

It's a Quantum syncro. Already has a 4kq driveshaft

any parts? i am short a couple pieces.....

other than that, what i did to fit forged control arms on the rear required moving the rear subframe back (to get the wheel centered in the arches) and thus moving the rear diff forward (to keep the DS length the same). i suppose at that point i could have just tossed in one of the many CQ DS's i have on hand, and not moved the diff forward again..... hindsight is always 20/20.
you could just move the rear diff back in the subframe to account for spacing or length differences, i would think.

No parts but I found whole assembles from certain models and I can find them on car-part for $500-1000 in a 200 mile radius, which is the next best thing to free around these parts. S4 transmissions are like $1500-2000.

Not an option on the QSW without a ton of work, the diff is part of the subframe and the rear bushing is the rear subframe mount. We have swing arms and beneficial toe-out under load like a BMW or Porsche, not struts. Side effect of the chassis being an AWD-converted FWD floorpan.

How much are you able to move the diff?
