the next project: 1983 Audi Quattro

I got my car through a local abandoned car auction. From what I gather (receipts, tire dates, ect) this car hasn't been on the road since 2001.

So I won't be starting this project right away as i have a cq that i'm trying to finish at the moment, but i'll start hunting for donor parts and such.

Here it is as I first saw it:

This looks like it was previously repaired













So. That is the baseline for this project.


When i brought it home i jacked it up and had a look under it to see what it looked like on from below:

































Overall it really isn't that bad, there are aftermarket fenders that can easily be bolted on. the underside is very solid, looks like it will make for a great project.

I washed out the engine bay and it tells the same story. no rust on the tops of the strut towers or fenders, very clean over all





The goal is to bring it back to its former glory, something simple like this:




So yeah, that is that. not sure how quickly the updates will roll in, but I will update it. Anyone with Spare URQ parts are welcome to contact and donate them to the cause, sponsors as well #shameless

Looking great man, I can't wait to see some progress on this.
Looks like all you do over there is get sh!t done man. When all is said and done you're going to have a super bad ass selection of cars!

Honestly, i'm probably going to do the same thing as Pat. I'll try to get it running on its stock setup. If that can be done, I'll focus on body work. If not, i'll probably source a nice 3b engine, and delete CIS. Probably keep it to a mild build, rods and a bigger turbo, shoot for 350+ awhp. Not going for a monster, more of the 'updated classic' feel. AKA Restomod

I don't know anything about the CIS... but do you know when it ran last or anything about the mechanical condition of it?

I know the engine turns over, and appears to have compression. I'm very confident that it has sat for 14+ years. and because of the fact that there are random wiring schematics, the lower panels pulled off and wiring in tatters, i'm guessing it stopped running and they didn't want to pay someone to look at it.... Also there was a poem about the wiring, i found that humorus.

I was thinking about doing sandblast and por-15 on things like the subframe. The underside of yours is not as bad as I thought it would be. Are you planning to strip the car copmletely for the body work?
