KKK Flanged ITS turbo $200+shipOBO

Post by vt10vt »

Up for sale is an ITS turbo I picked up from a friend originally planning on running it to compare it against my H1c/K26 combo I had another friend build, but money is too tight and unfortunately I now need sell this to pay my machinest. He was running it on his 80 rally car up until recently. It is in need of a rebuild, it has a decent amount of side-to-side play and some end-to-end play, will definately need a full rebuild. It will bolt to a standard KKK exhaust flange (was bolted to a stock 3B manifold before) although it overhangs a little bit. According to the PO it was starting to lose a little boost and blow a little blue smoke but nothing dramatic, I was going to run it as is for a little bit just to try it out before I went through rebuilding it.

I don't know much about the actual specs of this turbo, I measured the intake wheel so you can see what I measured, I can't get the exhaust housing off though and I don't want to force it, I'll let whoever gets it mess with it. Anyways, on to the pictures!

It looks like it's a #8 hotside, but could be confirmed by looking for an 8 stamped on the inside of the inlet of the turbine housing or looking for the flat-spot below. Unless it's a Turbonetics replica housing, which will have a "T" stamped on it.

#6 has a flat-spot on the housing as shown in the picture (#8 left, #6 right)

I have looked for casting marks, guess I should have mentioned that :) There aren't any I can find, the usual spot for the #6/#8 stamp has nothing and I don't see a 'T' anywhere either. It doesn't look like the K27 casting in your picture, I can get more pics if people want but I would guess it is a reproduction. I'm curious what the center section is because it clearly isn't a K27 cold side and if the hotside is aftermarket I wonder if it could maybe have a non BW center? hmm..

This is what the inside diameter of the hotside appears to be (ish) where the center section seats in. Anyone know? All I know is I want this sucka gone!
