I'm actually going to go grab some and test it to see if that will raise the skirt a bit and eliminate the gap.Mcstiff wrote::stupid: Has anyone tried to fit modern weather strippinginside the door?

I have not looked very closely but I'd think something could be figured out.
Re: Darin's 80tq...side skirt testing...
Took the lower trim off.
I'll have to fill these holes in on the front fender when I remove all the upper trim. Tips on filling holes like this?

Re: Darin's 80tq...more skirt developments...
Cut a piece of similar thickness metal the same shape and TIG in place. You can MIG but it's way more grinding and warping.
Re: Darin's 80tq...more skirt developments...
The head is back on and torque'd with a calibrated torque wrench! Hopefully I can button it back up tomorrow and start it back up. I can't believe it's been down for two months again!

Just fire it up and stop dwelling on how long it has been........ You'll soon forget as you are rushing thru the gears....

Nice job Darin!
And you didn't consider selling it once this time around.

As I'm buttoning things up I was reminded that my fuel line fittings are still cracked. It won't be starting today.

Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
I need to replace this fitting, but I don't want to replace the lines. How do these come off without destroying the hose? Just grab the red and unscrew the blue? What fittings should I use with this type of hose?

Not sure of the type of hose, it's just a braided rubber used for gasoline.

There's an EVCO in Sandy. I would say take the line there and have them put some better fittings on.
Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
can they do crimp on swivel's? that seems the way to go or a barb/cutter type fitting

Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
Those twist-lok / push-lock fittings sketch me out for fuel lines. 2nd barb/cutter style, and for fuel I would use only Earls.

Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
I'm distracted today.
I'm eye'ing the Falken Azenis 255/40 tire. Here is how they look on a 17x8" wheel.
I'm confident once the rear fenders are finished they will fit without a problem. My gunmetal ABT's are a 17x8 wheel with 30mm offset. Here is picture of them on the 80's fronts without a spacer and a 235 track tire.
I have a 5mm spacer that I can put on to clear the tie rod, but then I think I'll run into fender problems.
Must find solution. Damn Jim Green and his widebody 90.

Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
Have the front fenders been rolled yet? Can they be? You need more flush? I haz 20mm spacers
Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
No, the front fenders have not been rolled and maybe I can rotate those struts and control arms just a little bit.

Been thinking about getting some Falken Azenis for a while now. If you get them make sure they are the 615k (newer improved version) versus the regular 615. They look the same but the K has better grip and feel from what Ive read.

Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
Darin, I would only use Aeroquipe socketless fittings, and for fuel I would add a clamp. Sorry for the evil thoughts I have cursed you with
Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
Darin, dont mess around. take the lines down to EVCO or Hose Products and let them set you up with the goods. not worth taking a chance.
Re: Darin's 80tq...fuel line fittings...
Yep, I just put the hose in my truck. Going there tomorrow.

More pointless pics of my car. I'm really liking these gunmetal wheels on the black car with the s4 skirt. It's really going to look good with the upper door trim removed, B4 rears and fresh paint....
RS2 mirrors would be sweet too..
....and 255's. Here are the fronts with the 235 track tires and a 10mm spacer:
Those 235/40's are more like a 245, so what's another 10mm?
I can get the fronts to work...
I think I'll sell my other ABT's with the 235/40 Dunlop Star Specs. 17x8 25mm offset. Gotta buy some Azenis!!
