Nice fuel curve, pretty spot on but yeah a tiny bit up top like you said. What were you using for knock - Marc's phones or a sweet copper contraption? We did the latter at Brady's... it looked hilarious but worked awesome. And LOL 33% DC. I was seeing around 70 with the 630cc on only 20psi. Might not last too long with those... haha.

Epic dude. Car sounds and looks amazing. Most importantly how does it FEEL driving?! From ~400whp to 550 is a pretty nice jump... sheesh. From only timing dad's car made another 60whp so I'd say you'll be well into the 600s. Now just be careful with your pistons lol

Ed, you are motivating me to go and do some more tuning! Great numbers!
Re: Ed's 1992 UrS4 "da fridge": dyno tuning
Thanks all! More to come in a few weeks or so.
Yeah, it is a shit ton of power....so it feels really good
Driveability is great, easy to drive around town / in traffic (although that is the same as it has been).
I need to continue to adjust fuel and I can also lean the entire curve out a bit more.
I'm not worried about the pistons - lifting the head or slipping the clutch are the main concerns over 600whp... no signs of either so far
I'm not sure what a "sweet copper contraption" is
LOL but I had a knock cable plugged into an amplifier w/ some nice noise cancelling headphones. No knock of course, not gonna get it to knock with E85.
VEMS map sensor is good to ~44psi so I think I'll be good
I also need to update my firmware for the new boost control features. I'm still on 1.1.81

Man, there are not many fun cars around here to play with...sucks. There was some douche in a puke green e46 m3 that was revving his engine next to me at a light yesterday... it was right before a highway on-ramp that merges 2 lanes to 1. He tried to get the jump and merge in front of my so i opened the dump and ripped it until he was just a spec in my rear view mirror. But that's no fun...need some fast cars to play.85oceanic wrote:THIS ^^^^ OH and we can't forget those pesky lightly modded GTRs!chaloux wrote:Go find some zr1s and post vids

Correct. They are GM transmission mounts.
Have your grinder ready. There is quite a bit of modification required to make them fit, but once they're in they are nice and solid, but still comfortable.

we are modding a bunch of them right now for plug and play. If you can wait a tad longer, you can have our CNC do the work

Awesome numbers, can't imagine what that's like behind the wheel! As others have said, car sounds great as well, congrats!

Re: Ed's 1992 UrS4 "da fridge": dyno tuning
Thanks... For a C4, you need to notch the corners of the mounting brackets on the upper plate. You can leave the lower plate untouched. The passenger side needs the actual poly mount modified...need to do some grinding to get it to fit into the rounded bracket that is on the frame rail.vt10vt wrote:Awesome numbers, can't imagine what that's like behind the wheel! Apparently there is not quite as much modification required on the smaller chassis cars - I think I am the first one to try these on a C4 so it was a bit of an experiment, but it worked out.
Thx!PRY4SNO wrote:Nice work!

Re: Ed's 1992 UrS4 "da fridge": dyno tuning
Right, on the small chassis, you just need to elongate (or slot) one of the holes and it pops right in. If you angle it right, you can even get away w/o doing anything, but for ease of install/removal, making the hole bigger is worth the effort.
Also, def make sure to wrap them if they're near heat (as you are, Ed). They don't hold up well at all to the turbo heat!

Re: Ed's 1992 UrS4 "da fridge": dyno tuning
I planned on shielding the turbo side, but I don't think they are exposed to uber heat on the C4 like they are on the smaller chassis cars. The bracket that bolts to the motor is huge and shields a lot of a heat, and there is good air flow on the bottom of the mount. But I'll shield it just in case.

Re: Ed's 1992 UrS4 "da fridge": dyno tuning
yeah, the mounts are def a bit closer on the B2 chassis than the C4 chassis:

Re: Ed's 1992 UrS4 "da fridge": dyno tuning
wow... yeah, that is also far more exposed to heat than it is on the C4. Ours is nicely tucked under the bracket that bolts to the block

Actually you will be surprised that the C3/C4 and B2/B3/B4 pass side mount (alloy leg) is interchangeable.jretal wrote:yeah, the mounts are def a bit closer on the B2 chassis than the C4 chassis:

I am using the C3 TDI mount on my B4 (with stock B3 sheet metal mounting points).
I had them side by side and they align perfectly, however they do use different points on the block so the C3/C4 mounts do appear to be larger (wider bolt span).
I have also seen a lot of European guys use the stock AAN pass mount in their S2s.
The driver side mount is completely different and will not interchange.
Hope this helps

Interesting... maybe the end points are the same, but the mount is definitely more shielded with the C4/AAN mounting leg.

The AAN one is wider and more substantial. But the distance between the engine and mount is identical.EDIGREG wrote:Interesting... maybe the end points are the same, but the mount is definitely more shielded with the C4/AAN mounting leg.
Also, 20vt motors are not that bad, turbo is much higher along with the exhaust etc.
20vt with stock manifold place the exhaust very low and close to both mount, starter and even the oil filter housing.
Ur-q even came with a funky shield for the starter and motor mount as well as the oil filter housing, to protect them from all that heat.
Cheers
