That's pretty cool! Go Pro in the engine bay? Hope you don't melt it.
It didn't melt, lol. Although I was nervous...so I put the original hero I have in there and kept the two newer ones out of harms way. It most likely would have fallen off though if I didn't pull over after the pulls and take it off, that 3m tape doesn't fare well with that much heat.ChrisAudi80 wrote:That's pretty cool! Tis the plan yea. We are going to pump 6-10 more psi into the setup on the street, or until the 255s no longer dead hook second gear roll ons, then hopefully I'll be able to make at least one test and tune to get some seat time before show and go in a few weeks.bdcoombs wrote:you going to show n go i take it?
honestly, i think with two or three more passes on last years 225s it woulda went 10's. even just having a shift light this year so far just on the street has made things night and day easier as far as driving the car balls out, shifting correctly so it doesnt fall terribly out of the power band, so i really just cant wait to get to a track and see what it can actually do with my driving it semi-properly.bdcoombs wrote:hopefully go 10's on 255s , that would be freaking awesome man
Chris, I think when your 1000hp T44 is done, half the MG community will want a ride...loxxrider wrote:That looks very, very fun.
ill be honest, last year...maybe i just got used to it somehow or whatnot...even after the dyno boost setting up at 38psi the car never really 'scared' me at all. it was fast no doubt, but going and doing 2-3 pulls, even some 4th in cases, i was never really IN it and just said....holy fiddle sticks this thing is moving right now. this year seems to be an entirely different animal with the new cams, up top in third gear...the car is moving out. that strip of road i actually cant even pull 3rd all the way to redline in fear of not being able to slow down in time. i think a set of larger front brakes may actually be ON the list of things to get done this winter.ChrisAudi80 wrote:Intense.
Funny that your co-driver does not even move a muscle. He's all cool and shit.
Or was he scared?
The pity about high power cars like yours is that there are very few places you can take it all out.
Full blast pulls from 1st through 5th ( or 6th).
I wouldn't even be able to guess. Say last year my best trap speed in the 1/4 was 137, and that was only running 32-34psi vs the 38 we ran on the dyno when the car made 648whp. Pretty much last years cam setup for every psi we put into the motor we were getting 20whp in return. Started tuning on the rollers at 28psi and made 446, ended at 38psi and 648. And I was barely kissing 4th going across the line at the end of the 1/4. All I know is, it'd be TOO fast for me to want to do on any public road, or any closed course for that matter without larger brakes, a chute to pull just in case, and a crazier cage.ChrisAudi80 wrote:Theoretically, what would be the top speed of that thing? 180-190mph?
Obviously going flat out on a public road is unwise. Are you still running the stock brakes? Eek.zerb wrote:I wouldn't even be able to guess. Instead of dragging the car, have you thought of going for some open road racing?
I know UT or NV is kinda far, but I think that would be major fun.
The only 4x108 BBK set I have found so far is the AP Racing kit 034 sells for 1850 whopping bux.zerb wrote:What were your plans? I did some reading up last winter on a porsche setup, just lost time and funds for this year. My whole thing is that I want(read need) to keep the stock 4x108 rotor bolt hole pattern, because I do love the wheel/tire combo that's on the car right now.

There has got to be an alternative, besides going 5x112.
