ShavedQuattro wrote:Well Derek, how hard is it to come up on TT carriers? wouldnt I just want to look for TT brakes to begin with? Do the A4s have the right carrier? What year a4 and does it need to be quattro(ala the 97 non quattro 1.8t at the junkyard..)
when doing the swap on A4s, we generally just need teh carrier and rotors from a D2 A8, and reuse the A4 calipers. IIRC, the TT calipers are different than the A4, but as to what those differences are I'm not sure as I've never had them side by side.
Also, to add a lil bit 'o info in... All A4 calipers have the brake lines threaded in (front and rear), and to the best of my knowledge there are no banjo bolts required on them. At least the B5 A4s.

WAAAHOOOOO got me some new Tahrs!! and good ones too 8)

good news is that these 235/40/17 falken azenis' are the same height as the well used toyo RA1, and the same width, so all my clearancing and such should pay off nicely 8) only bummer is that i gotta wait until next weekend when i get home to mount them :(
older pic, but mmmm

i also got my yellow spring for the wastegate, and it's boostin hard

27psi hard... haha. i was watching it closely and backed out right away but i gotta get it down to 24psi max overboost methinks. i guess pretty soon i better get my new turbo on it.. and header, and exhaust.. and IM spacer so much to do !

annnd, on the interior front, i took a spare rear seat cover apart and have been tinkering half heartedly with the upholstery work. i was kinda sick last week and then had other things going on, so not too much progress on that front, hopefully soon though. i'd like the interior to be buttoned up soon so it's nice in there (plus i hate the squeaky drivers seat
:frustrated: . i did however get the ecu mounted and the glovebox in and passenger's side floorboard cleaned up

Are you sure that's not a coilover helper spring?

Those 235/40/17's look good on the Urq. They don't look like they would have any problem at all with clearance. Maybe when the car is lowered they would. How wide are the rims?

Got any tricks to get the wastegate spring on without taking apart the whole thing?
Tried the C-clamp, ....busted knuckles...:(

no clearance problems with it now...
rims are 17x8 ET48 A8 rims.. of which i have 5 for sale

the finishes are rough, but otherwise fine.
audibeans... dude, what are you undoing?! haha. there's six little 8mm nuts holding the WG cap on... no C-clamps needed

maybe the spring I got is too long....have to push way down on the cap, cant get the 8mm nuts started....

yesssssssssssss
(pardon the dirt and cat prints, been meaning to kill those things off)

the only thing i need to do is finish cutting out my 3-4mm spacers so that the rear tires have a little more clearance between the parts they are jjuuuuust barely touching

i've been waiting a loooong time to fit 235's under a 4kq... and now that i've have 265's in my hands, they 235's look small!

:( oh well, these suckers are grippy, and 20mm more rubber will make a world of difference for this car 8)
